(Added May 6/11) Called information number to ask some technical questions and was treated very courteously. No sales pressure and was called back with answers within an hour. I have ordered the unit/service and will do a followup review after installation and test. I think this type of PERS is the future -- we finally have our Dick Tracy wrist communicators!
(Added Jan 29/11) My mother in law is 98 years old and depends on a medical alert device for independent living. We tried several types and settled on Silver Fox Link since it encourages her to have it with her all the time. How does it do this? The wearable unit functions as a phone as well as an alert device. When incoming calls arrive, the caller ID is presented. If she choses, she can press the button and answer the call right on pendant. She does not need to be near any fixed speaker phone as other units requir. She can pick up the call right there! Since she hates to miss a call, you can bet that she will wear the unit all the time. Another advantange here is that wearing the device protects against jumping up from a nap to answer the phone. She did this a few years ago an broke her hip. We understand this situation happens more often than not with older people. The unit is also very easy to use. I has a built in watch function that sets itself automatically whenever an incoming call arrives. All user functions require only a push of the button- the same button in each case. Make an emergency call, answer the phone, or hang up by pressing the same button. The button comes configrued to wear as a watch or a necklace. Installation is very easy. The 24/7 call center is a toll free call reachable from anywhere in the US. With all these advantages we are very satisfied with our Silver Fox Link.
