(Added July 25/10) I purchased a life link system about 3 years ago.   I really liked the concept of no monthly fees and was able to program the system and set it up quickly to dial up to 4 phone numbers.   Unfortunately, the quality of the system was sub par.  The recorded voice is very garbled and the system for caneling an alarm from a cell phone did not work properly (It requires the phone caller to press a button on the phone - some cell phones will not transmit the tone).   If you can't cancel the call, it goes on to the next one.

All in all, I wouldn't recommend the system to others.  It works, but with severe limitations.
