(Added May 18/12) I am finding it very difficult to discontinue service.  I have returned the equipment along with a letter to discontinue service and have a fed ex tracking number to confirm its return. I have subsequently been charged for the service on my credit card. There is no direct contact with the billing office.  I have called at least 5 times and am told someone will return my call.  To date, no one has ever returned my call.  I am finally having to formally dispute the charge with my credit card company.  What a waste of everyone's time.
(Added Feb 5/10) We have left over a dozen phone messages over the past 2 months at varying times during business hours, including an email message marked "urgent", to attempt to report changes to the emergency contact list information, with not one response. We have triggered the med-alert call box several times to speak with the emergency contact person, who was polite but unable to help us or refer us to any other contact for the company, stating they were simply the emergency call center. I conclude the call center service is subcontracted out, and the company, 1-800-Med-Alert itself perhaps no longer in business.
(Added Sept 10/09) I have been trying to reach someone at this place for a week and NO ONE has called me back or answered one single call (and trust me, there have been several). How can you trust a place that cannot even come to the phone or return a call to be responsible or reputable enough to aid someone in need when they TRY to call?? DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! I can't even get a real person on the phone to cancel my service!!!
(Added June 24/09) Our mother passed away 2 months ago, and Med Alert is still BILLING US. BEWARE.
